Lovino scrambled out of the bed, but fell to the floor with a smash.

"Ugh...hurts so bad...but so lazy...to get up..."

He crawled on the floor trying to find his way with his eyes shut from the brightness of the morning sun. 'How does Maria deal with this every morning?' he thought. He finally reached what he thought was a door handle and turned it. To his surprise and dissatisfaction, what he thought was the exit door was really the laundry closet. All sorts of assortments of clothing fell on the sleepy Italian. He try to crawl away, but the weight of dresses and parasols were far too much. He laid there with a pile of clothes on his back.

"Well, at least it's the nice laundry smell..."

He started to doze off once more, letting the warm clothes overcome all of his senses,

----

Maria's little feet pattered against the hard wood. In her small voice, she mumbled, "They'll never find me here!"

She ran down the hall into her large room. The large balcony window was open, and the sun was setting. She loved the sun's rays pouring into the room. She looked desperately around as he heard Lovino down the hall.

"Maria! I'm-a gonna find ya, sorella! Just wait and see!"

She giggled a toddler's giggle and looked at the laundry closet. "Ha! He wouldn't find me under a pile of clothes!"

She dived into the dresses and socks to not only hit her head on something hard but to hit her head on her brother Feli's head.
Rubbing her head, she whispered, "Feli! Go hide somewhere else! This is my hiding spot!"
He stuck his tongue out. "Not over my dead body!"

They started to wrestle a little as Lovino walked in.

"Wow, I would have never found you guys, with all the giggling."
"Ah, fratello! You are a party pooper!"
"Yeah, Lovi! You wouldn't know fun if it hit you in the face!"

Lovino growled. "Me? Not know fun? I'll show ya fun!"

He dived in the pile of clothes, tickling his tiny sister and not so tiny brother. Feliciano and Maria were exhausted. Lovino wiped his hands.

"Guys, I'm-a gonna need to go out a bit. Feli, take care of dinner while I'm-a gone, okay?"
"And where are you going, Lovi?"
"I need to handle some...business. Got it? Now go on!"

He kissed Maria's forehead tenderly. Feliciano stood there, now looking very quiet. Lovino patted his shoulder.

"I'll be back sooner than you know it, got it kids?"

Maria smiled back at her brother. Lovino blew her a kiss. He then looked over at his brother. Feliciano's face said all over "Don't go." He knew what Lovino did every night, but he couldn't tell that to Maria. He couldn't. And Lovino sure couldn't. It will break her small heart.

Lovino started to walk away.

"I'll see you guys in a few."

He put on his fedora and coat. He called for the Palace carriage and rode off into the night.

----

Lovino was dreaming a happy dream. The one he loved the most. The one with the tomato fields growing the ripest, freshest tomatoes there are. He was about to chow down on a big one until he heard a voice.

"Lovino! Are you okay?"

Maria was at the door looking over the pile of clothes and her brother under them. She wondered how he got there for a second, but instantly ran to his "aid."

"My brother! You must be careful with these parasols! They can stab your eye!"
She moved the pieces of clothing off the sleepy Italian. He rubbed his head.

"Thanks, sissy. Sorry about that. I was...looking for something."
"In my closet? You are too funny, mi fratello! Come, breakfast is ready!"

She took his hand in both of hers and dragged him off the floor. They then walked hand-in-hand down the hall. He thought to himself on how they did this as growing children, her so young, and him, almost an adult. They would walk hand-in-hand just like that. The warmth of her soul travelling into his through that link. They walked like that, but then that day came where...

"Lovino? What are you thinking about? You look serious."
"Huh? Nah, nothing, sissy. Nothing. Let's get to breakfast, okay?"

They strolled into the dining hall to hear the cackling voice of a certain Prussian.

"Yo! This latte stuff is de-li-cious!!"

Then was the smoothness of an older Frenchmen.

"Quite. May I please have another? This is quite wonderful."

Lastly was the always annoyingly joyous voice of a Spaniard.

"Hey~~ Feli. May I please get some more biscotti, if you don't mind?"

Every single voice made Lovino wince. Every. Single. One. Maria, on the other hand, smiled a wide smile. Her smiled just got wider with every voice heard. She ran into the kitchen pass the dining hall finding Gilbert Beilschimdt, or Prussia, telling one of his crazy stories to Pope John Paul II. Francis Bonnefoy, France to the world, was wooing the Italian housekeeper who was suppose to be serving the party. Then there was Antonio Carriedo, Spain, talking to Feliciano as he prepared a biscotti with jelly from the cupboard. Maria shouted,

"Toni! Gil! Fran! You're here!"

Lovino slapped his face in total despair.
